SYNBONE’s manikins for trauma, laparoscopic and vascular training

During the last few years Synbone has expanded its product line to include torsos for trauma, laparoscopy and vascular surgery training. These models allow both open and laparoscopic surgery approach. They are not only realistic but easy to assemble and re-use.

Training manikin for ATLS trauma courses

In 2006, SYNBONE was asked by the ATLS Organization to develop a training manikin for trauma team training. The SYNMAN torso model was approved by ACS/ATLS in March 2007 and is being used in various countries around the world.

Following changes to the ATLS standard trauma training program (9th Edition), SYNBONE reacted quickly to create a new model accommodating only the new procedures. SYNMAN Compact was born and then approved by the ACS/ATLS in October 2012.

SYNBONE’s vascular surgery training models

SYNBONE produces the following vascular training models for VASCULAR INTERNATIONAL

PR1006.2 Vascular Head

This vascular head model allows training of life-like procedures on the carotids: conventional and eversion TEA.

PR1210.1 Vascular Arm

This model is designed to train vascular surgeons in vascular access.

Procedures such as loops and grafts can be performed.

PR0835 Vascular Torso

This vascular torso model is designed to assist in training the elimination of an aortic aneurysm and other abdominal aortic procedures using an open surgery approach.

PR0828.1 Vascular Leg

This vascular leg model with interchangeable wound openings has been developed to train open peripheral vascular surgery.

In order to provide a model as close as possible to reality, the vascular models use fluids and a pulsating pump. Actual surgical instruments can be used on all models!

All these vascular training models have been developed in cooperation with the VASCULAR INTERNATIONAL. This worldwide leader in hands-on vascular surgery training organizes courses throughout the world including the well known “Pontresina Vascular” courses in Switzerland.

Laparoscopic trainer

Open and laparoscopic surgery can be trained on this Gastro intestinal model. For example, at the AGC Course in Davos. Its modular design allows the placement of wet specimens in the anatomically shaped cavities. Easy assembling and cleaning.
